New Feature: Genetic Summary Report

New Feature: Genetic Summary Report

Reporting genetic and other health screening results to public health databases associated with kennel clubs or registries, or non-profit groups like The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) is increasingly common or required. Breeders want to show their commitment to genetic health for the benefit of their dogs and their breed, and Wisdom Panel™ is happy to support in this effort with a new report type for breeders.

Summary reports now available

To make it easier to report the most relevant information for health reporting, we have developed a summary report of results for breeders to submit to their respective registry or health database. To access this automatically-generated PDF report, click “Reports” and you’ll find it listed there:

Reports contain vital information about the dog, his or her breed, testing and registration information necessary for recognition of results. Listed disorders are limited to disorders known to be significant in the breed for convenience and brevity, and results are typically limited to one page unless the breed has a large number of known disorders. If the breeder wishes to report additional disorder findings not considered to be known in the breed, we recommend using the Full Genetic Report instead.

A second page containing a glossary of terms and definitions is also included, and may be submitted if desired. These summary reports are acceptable for OFA submission, and may be acceptable for submission to kennel club and registry health databases. However, breeders should check with their respective registry in advance to ensure that all requirements for recognition of results are met, for example, verification of sample identity and official sample collection.
